Palma Corner

Adding value by trading with a difference Palma Corner is a joint initiative of Palma Foundation and NEERA Network to provide technical and marketing support to rural artisans and self-help groups. This has emerged as a destination for handcrafted products in Madurai city. Palma Corner showcases and promotes handcrafter products of artistic worth. The elegant collective made by rural artisans and craftsperson blend craft and creativity. Buing a product in Palma corner reaches the artisans and makes a difference in their life..This initiative supports livelihood of artisan communities, promotes fair trade practices, and integrates social responsibility in trading. This provides an opportunity to the customer to participate in a movement of trading with values and business with a human face. Palma Corner is an initiative of Palma Foundation, a non-profit trust, and NEERA (Network for Education and Empowerment of Rural Artisans), a network in Tamil Nadu. Palma Foundation supports artisan groups and rural enterprises by strengthening their capacities and creating access to market.

 

Impact since 2004 to 2013:

      Supported 70 supplier groups comprising  about 1000 artisans families

      Purchased handicraft articles worth of Rs. 41,50,000

      Sold products for about Rs. 52,30,000

      Incurred a total expense of Rs. 24,50,000

      Earned income out of sales is about  Rs. 18,00,000
